Quality of Life Realized in Livingston (Real Estate), New Jersey

If you’re digging in the real estate market these days and scuffling for that ideal home of yours, more likely you’ll get depressed rather than satisfied or excited over your choice, as there are too many homes for sale to choose from.  Experts say, be realistic about your dream abodes and search for great locations instead.  But you might ask:  How do you arrive at choosing a fitting neighborhood for you and your whole family?  The answers are direct and/or obvious:  safe and secure communities, with reputable schools promoting overall development of its students, affordable and quality standard of living, leisure or recreational facilities.  While some locations may just either possess one or two at the most of these, Livingston real estate in New Jersey is already at the helm of promoting that quality of life you’ve long been searching for. (Modesty aside).  And you may choose among many Livingston homes for sale - luxury custom abodes, middle class colonial homes, and trendy and fully furnished condominiums through Livingston MLS.

For those who are not on the know, Livingston Township was named in honor of William Livingston, the first governor of New Jersey and a framer of the Constitution.  Livingston served as governor for 13 terms before he died in 1790.

As of 2010, Livingston's population is 28,041 people. Since 2000, it has had a population growth of 2.31 percent.  Residents here enjoy a very pleasant lifestyle with easy access to New York City and other areas of New Jersey.  Interstates 80 and 280, the Garden State Parkway, the New Jersey Turnpike, and Route 24 are all close to Livingston.  It has six elementary schools, two middle schools and a comprehensive high school that received the US Department of Education's Blue Ribbon Award in 1998.  Livingston High School was the 14th-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 316 schools state-wide, according to New Jersey Monthly magazine in September, 2006.  The city’s schools participate in many county, interschool, state, and national competitions.

Livingston High School, where 75 percent of the teachers hold advanced degrees, regularly sends about 95 percent of its graduates to two- or four-year colleges. All classrooms and the media center have computers with Internet access. The school offers 17 advanced placement courses in the sciences, computer science, English, history, mathematics, art and foreign languages. (2004)

This small town also boasts of 30 community boards and organizations including for the youth and seniors, a testimony to residents’ active lifestyle alongside their social concern - Livingston's unique brand of quality of life.  Alongside the statewide effort called “Sustainable Jersey” - a certification and incentive program for municipalities that want to go green, save money, take steps to sustain their quality of life over the long term - is the Livingston Township’s Living Green Program which covers energy conservation, saving money, and alternative energy.

With all these said, a neighborhood, like Livingston, which has unique and comprehensive programs for its residents, now that’s an utmost concern and sincere effort for a quality life!
